Exam Pattern SSC CHSL Recruitment 2020-21
The exam consists of 3 stages.
- Online Test
- Descriptive Test
- Skill Test
Tier 1 is the Online Computer Based exam of 200 marks. The Maximum time allotted for the Tier 1 exam is 60 minutes. Tier 2 is a pen-paper based exam. Tier 3 is a typing test for LDC, Postal assistant and clerk.
SSC CHSL 2020 TIER 1 Exam Pattern
Tier 1 is completely MCQ based Paper, conducted in online mode.
- There are 100 questions of 200 marks.
- The duration of the exam is 60 minutes.
- Question Paper will be in both Hindi or English Language.
- There is a Negative Marking of 0.50 marks.
There are 4 sections in this exam.25 Questions are asked from each section.
- 1) General Intelligence and Reasoning
- 2) General Awareness
- 3)Quantitative Aptitude
- 4)English Language
For each correct answer, 2 marks is given, and each wrong answer costs you 0.50 marks.

Staff Selection Commission CHSL 2020 Tier 2 Exam Pattern
- This is Descriptive Paper, conducted in offline mode.
- Candidates will have to write essays/letters/applications on any given topic.
- The exam will be of 100 marks.
- The maximum time allotted for this exam is 60 minutes.
- The candidates can give an exam in either Hindi and the English language.
- A minimum of 33% marks is required to clear Tier 2.

SSCCHSL 2020 Tier 3 Exam Pattern
It is a Skill Test/Typing Test for Tier 2 Qualifiers.
Candidates applying for DEO (Data Entry Operator) have to take Typing Test. Candidates will have to qualify for the exam. They have to type on the computer at a prescribed Speed set by the commission.
Typing Test
- In English, Typing speed of 35 words per minute is required.
- In Hindi, Typing speed of 30 words per minute is required.
Typing Test will be applicable for LDC, PA/SA.
Skill Test
Data entry speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on the computer. It is tested for DEO post.
Tier 3 is only Qualifying in nature. Final Selection would be made on the basis of marks obtained in Tier 1 and Tier 2.

Selection Process CHSL Recruitment 2020-21
The Final Selection is based on the overall performance in all the three Tiers. Marks of Tier 1 and Tier 2 plays an important role in final selection as Tier 3 is only Qualifying in nature.
