Educational Qualifications

1)-Candidate should have degree in B.Sc.(Agriculture) (with minimum sixty percent marks) from any recognized University or Institution.

  *Preference shall be given to a Candidate, who had a degree in M.Sc. (Agriculture) from any recognized University or Institution.

2 As per the official notification Punjabi of Matric or its equivalent Standard is essential. Also if candidate is a ward of Defence Service Personnel, who is a bona fide resident of Punjab State, is appointed by direct appointment.

Candidate should have to pass an examination of Punjabi Language (equivalent to Matriculation Standard)  or Candidate should have to qualify a test conducted by the Language Wing of the Department of Education of Punjab Government  among two years from the date of his appointment.

If candidate is a war Hero, who has been released/ retired or discharged at his own request from defense services or paramilitary forces on account of disability any dependent member of his family, is appointed for the job under the instructions issued  by the Government, the Candidate so appointed will not be required to have knowledge of Punjabi language.

Age Criteria

(i) Candidates  age should  be below 18 to 37 (not below 18) years of age as on 01-01-2020.

(ii) Upper age limit may be extended (age relaxation) up to 45 years for Punjab Govt. and its Board or Corporation or Commission and Authorities employees, and for all State or Central Government employees.

(iii) age relaxation up to 42 years(Upper age limit) for SC and Backward Classes of Punjab.

 (iv) Ex-servicemen (having Punjab Domicile) will be allowed to deduct the his service period in the Armed Forces   from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the upper age limit decided for direct appointment to such a vacancy in the Service Rules concerned by more than three years, he should be deemed to verify the condition regarding age limit.

 (v) Age relaxation (Upper age limit)  up to 42 years for Widows or Divorcees and certain other Categories of Women candidates.

 (vi) Age relaxation (Upper age limit)  upto 47 years for Candidate with Disability of Punjab.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

As per official notification the written Examination for the Post of Agriculture Development Officers(141 vacancies) will be held on 08-03-2020 Admit Cards for the written Exam will be available from  03-03-2020, 01:00 P.M. onwards at official website of PPSC http://ppsc.gov.in.

Admit Cards will also be send to the Email ID given by the candidate in the time of filling Online Application Form.

The procedure of written Exam t for the post of Agriculture Development Officer 141 vacancies in the Department of Agriculture and Welfare of Farmers, Punjab is in below pattern:-

 (i)-Written test of 300 marks (Exam has total 120 questions, each question for 2.5 marks) and followed by interview (40 marks) as per following details:

*Candidates who will qualify the written exam not more than two times

the number of posts (not more than from merit list of written exam 2*141=282 candidates for interview, from merit list of written exam) will be short-listed and asked to appear for the interview.

However, this number(242) will be subject to change if two or more qualified candidates at the last number (the number at the end of merit list based on written test) had equal marks, then all of they all will be ask to appear for  Interview (subject to eligibility of candidate).

The other features of the written exam will be as follows

 (a) As per the notification There will be no negative marking in the written test (Good thing is no negative marking for wrong answer or without answer question).

(b) After the exam answer key is uploaded on the PPSC website, candidates can raise their objections if any. They (Candidates) will have four days to deliberate before putting up objections. Any objection raised by any candidate found ‘ frivolous’ may draw negative marking (as per the each question for 2.5 marks).

 (c) The aim of the Interview is to check the candidate’s quality and suitability for the job by Panel Interview.

 (d) Final result will be prepared and declared on the basis of the final total of the marks obtained by the qualified Candidates in the Written Exam and the Interview.

(e) The marks of written exam obtained by the any candidates or cut off marks for interview will not be disclosed at the time of preparing merit list of candidates for interview .After interview all the data will be available on the official website.
